Here's Exactly What Happens
6:30pm We gather. We stand right in front of the grand pavilion. Details in the video above.
6:40pm We walk. We walk 2.5 miles around the lake. Our pace is slower so we can walk and talk.
7:30pm We socialize. We stand around the tailgate of my brown 2007 F-150. I provide ice cold water and soda and I turn on the Walking Sober playlist.
You don't have to be sober to come. You don't have to have a problem. You just have to want to walk.

FAQs
What if it rains?
Check your email and this page. I make the call by 2pm CDT the day of the walk.
If it is a spotty light rain we generally walk.
Do I have to be sober?
No. Some of us are, some are getting there, some are just curious.
Is this a support group? AA?
No. There are many paths to sobriety. This is just a walk.
Do I have to talk to anyone?
No. Walk quiet if you want. Nobody shares, nobody asks. You can just walk.
Can I bring my dog? My kid?
No. We keep it to adults so the conversation can go where it needs to. Leave the dogs and kids at home this once.
What does it cost?
Nothing. It is a walk in a public park.
What if I'm slow?
The pace is slow on purpose. It's a talking pace, not a workout. Nobody gets left behind.
Do I have to sign up?
No, just show up and find us.

Is it weird to come by myself?
No. Almost everyone comes alone the first time. That's the part that feels big before you do it and small after. Just walk up. Somebody will be glad you did.
